Alternative(s) N/A Requested By Ted McFetridge Originating Department Court Administration Attachment(s) Description CourtSmart Invoice Documents Requiring Action CourtSmart Invoice Executive Summary Court Administration is requesting authorization for special payment to CourtSmart in the amount of $23,419.00. This amount is for maintenance services received from July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. Background CourtSmart is the sole source provider of support for the Alachua County court audio and video recording system. This system records the official court record, in real time, controlled by a central monitoring room located in each courthouse. We rely solely on CourtSmart to keep the system operational. Initially, CourtSmart requested $87,790.00 as an annual rate. The Court Technology office has worked with CourtSmart for months negotiating better pricing for Alachua County. We were successful negotiating a 40% decrease. The new annual rate is $46,838.00. During the negotiations CourtSmart continued to service our system. Issues If payment is not approved we will not be able to maintain the equipment needed for court records. Fiscal Recommendation Authorize special payment.
