Executive Summary
The attached amendment to the contract with the Department of Children and Families, reduces the annual funding for the Metamorphosis Program by $14,637 per State fiscal year. This reduction reduces the annual funding from DCF to $303,819 for State FY 07/08 and to $303,819 for State FY 08/09. The amended contract expires June 30, 2009.
Background
The original contract with the Department of Children and Families for the Metamorphosis Program being amended here was signed at the May 23, 2006 Commission meeting. Alachua County has maintained a long standing funding agreement with DCF for the Metamorphosis Program, which requires minimum local match funding.
Issues
This funding reduction from the State shifts the greater portion of finanical responsibility for the Metamorphosis Program from the State to Alachua County if current program budget is maintained.
Fiscal Recommendation
Approve the contract amendment and reduce Metamorphosis FY 07/08 operating budget by $14,647 per year.
Fiscal Alternative(s)
This contract forms the bulk of the Metamorphosis Program budget and the loss of this contract would result in a loss of $303,819 for FY 08/09.
