Executive Summary
On May 22, 2007 we puchase a Dell MX2010 portable computer for video editing. Due to an unresonable number of service issues as well as general disapointment with the performance of the machine I convinced Dell to take it back and give the County a full refund. We want to use this new revenue to purchase a new video editing machine.
Background
This machine is an essential part of our office as many of our projects require three editors working simultaneously. The potability of the machine is important as the industry standard is to have a comuter on location. Our plan is to used the returned revenue to purchase a new machine that will better serve our needs.
Issues
We are requesting using the refund money to purchase a similar computer.
Fiscal Recommendation
To deposit the revenue into a PIO revenue account and approve the budget amendment putting the revenue into the Communications capital account.
