Background
The County recognizes all employees who have reached a milestone year of service (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35) at an annual awards ceremony following the year the milestone year of service was attained. Also recognized at that event are employees who have achieved outstanding or exemplary attendance for the previous calendar year. In an effort to provide a timely recognition of employees who have reached a milestone year of service, we are recognizing the employees on the attached list who reached their milestone year in April of 2008. These employees will be invited to the Annual Employee Recognition Ceremony to be held in 2009 here they will be presented with a certificate attesting to their length of service, as well as any other recognition mementos presented to employees attaining that milestone year of service. The County also wishes to recognize employees who have recently achieved a career milestone in their field. These employees and their achievements will be introduced by their respective Department Directors.
Issues
Providing Length of Service Pins is a form of employee recognition that contributes to increased morale. Failure to recognize and show appreciation for employees may result in a decrease in morale and overall efficiency.
