Community Agency Partnership Program
(CAPP)
Overview: There are two categories of funding: One category is for programs that serve to reduce poverty among Alachua County residents. This category is called the "Poverty Reduction" category. The other category is for arts, cultural, historical or environmental programs that serve the Underserved. This category is called the "Underserved" category.
Applicants may apply for funding for a maximum of two (2) programs. The maximum amount that can be requested per program is $75,000. Applicants may not apply in both categories for the same program, but they may apply for funding in one category for one program and the other category for a second program.
Eligibility: Non-profit, 501(c)(3) agencies/organizations with a physical location in Alachua County who have programs that serve to reduce poverty or arts, cultural, historical or environmental programs that serve the Underserved residents of Alachua County.
Funding: Total funding for both categories combined is generally around one million dollars. In FY2008, the Poverty Reduction category was alloted $890,756 and was awarded to 21 non-profit agencies for 30 poverty reduction programs. The Underserved category was alloted close to $200,000.00, which was awarded to four (4) arts, cultural, historical and environmental non-profit agencies.
Type of Process: RFA (Request For Application) that includes a written application and an oral presentation. Applications in the Poverty Reduction category are reviewed by the CAPP Advisory Board, a 7-member Board. For the Underserved category, an 8-member Cultural/Environmental Funding Advisory Board evaluates the applications. Both Boards make funding recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The County Commissioners decide the actual funding.
Funding Fiscal Year: October 01 - September 30
