Recall of Omega Fire Sprinklers

In cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC), the Central Sprinkler Company (Lansdale, PA) is recalling all 'Omega" series fire sprinklers. The specified sprinklers were manufactured from 1982 through 1998. The USCPSC has determined that these sprinklers are defective and could potentially fail to operate as required in a fire.

Building owners and homeowners who have "Omega" series sprinklers installed in their facilities/occupancies should contact the manufacturer as soon as possible to request important information about this recall. You can get this information by calling 1-800-896-5685, or by visiting their website at www.Omegarecall.com. The manufacturer will provide a "Notice Packet" containing a "Proof of Claim and Waiver and Release Form" that must be completed to receive free replacement sprinklers. Additionally, in order to receive any reimbursement for replacement costs, owners must submit completed "Proof of Claim and Waiver and Release Forms" to Central Sprinkler by August 1, 1999. Filing a "Proof of Claim and Waiver and Release Form"postmarked after August 1, 1999, but before November 1, 2001 still qualify to receive replacement sprinklers.
