Network Support
The realm of technology is a constantly changing environment that requires a strong set of skills and the mental agility to change and keep pace with the industry. Made up of some of the finest talent in this area the ITS Networking Division has all the right stuff to keep Alachua County up, running and on top of things.
Handling everything from network architecture and design, to managing several hundred servers and well over 800 desktop and laptop computer systems, scanners, printers and other peripheral devices is no easy task, but we make the grade. We work closely with Board departments and Constitutional offices on their infrastructure needs. Our clients are accustomed to the excellent service and support we provide them with good turn around times and 99.9% up time of the network.
Research & Development
The time honored tradition of research and development goes back as far as man kind does. From the first people to make tools to hunt with all the way up to present day research and development has been a valuable and important method of advancing our society. It is no different with us here. The Networking staff members are constantly researching new technologies to save the county money, time and effort in their day-to-day routines.
Vendor research such as with Microsoft products to test new products and version updates to assure that Alachua County maintains its current infrastructure and is able to scale with time to handle growth and re-organization at a low cost.
We collaborate closely with Applications Division on software products and needs of the county by researching new innovative ways of integrating current products and software to new systems a nd structures to facilitate innovation within Alachua County�s departments and offices.
